Amber Perry is Atlantic City Electric's Vice President for Regulatory Strategy & Policy. She was profiled for the 2025 first quarter edition of the NJUA member newsletter.
Please tell us about your position.
My team oversees all regulatory filings and strategic energy policy matters. In addition, I also lead our energy procurement efforts and the strategic planning and execution of all clean energy programs that are primarily focused on energy efficiency, electric vehicles, and demand response.
How did you get into this field?
With a background in Finance, Customer Strategy & Policy, and Lean Six Sigma/Continuous Improvement, this was just a natural fit. I enjoy navigating dynamic areas of the company where I get to connect with customers and various stakeholders across the energy industry. Every day in this position has been a phenomenal journey to bring new and impactful ideas forward in a rapidly evolving industry.
What accomplishments are you most proud of?
I am most proud of the continued work that I do in the community and with local schools to expand STEM opportunities and leadership skills for youth. It’s important for youth to see representation across all fields of interest and to hear valuable insights on various career fields. I have started after-school STEM programs, STEM Summer Camps, and supported young scholars’ programs. Each one has been special to me for the impact it has on a young mind!
What drew you to working at Atlantic City Energy?
The collaborative culture of our teams, the focus on connecting with the community and being of service to others drew me to the company. The company also embraces leadership development and offers many opportunities to grow and make an impact. Over the years, the company has maintained a strong culture, focusing on positive impacts to customers and the communities we serve. It is something I truly enjoy!
What are you most looking forward to this year?
We just kicked off a broad suite of energy efficiency programs to help customers manage energy use and save money. We continue to refine our strategy and approach to meeting all current and future customer energy needs.
How do you relax?
I am not familiar with the word “relax.” ☺ I tend to re-energize more than I relax. I look for ways to re-energize myself by exercising which typically includes playing tennis with my daughter or golf with my husband. I love a good spa day and find that anytime I am surrounded by water, I feel most energized.
Favorite Jersey performer?
I grew up in the 80s so my favorite Jersey bands were Kool & The Gang and Strutter.
